a cloud in the ground

In the middle of Sintra pine-forest, the purity of the place is in somehow imperative, that is on the most characteristic element that the concept takes place.

Like it was changing the level of a cloud… the ramp house seems to levitate above ground. Transparent through the courtyard.. opaque from the outside. The concept of the cloud takes it all out. To get in we levitate… to get outside, the stairs remember us our weight.

Intersected by the trees in the middle of the house, the construction moves around them, inside and outside. The cloud is a metaphor that persists in the perception of the space | Where every wall is a door, the entry sometimes can demonstrate the outside, we can see through it, like in a bright day of sun. The bathroom evoques that symbolism: open to the outside, like the water blow depended on the rain…

The whole concept lives troughout… the walls do without and manifest like weather conditions. A space that changes its appearance as weather changes, on weather basis.

This white house landed on the forest ground to demonstrate how time passage can be transparent sometimes… almost timeless, and how dark sky can transform the architecture in a monolithic way… totally opaque, close in itself… a safe (deposit) box.

When the sky appears to enclose itself, the house behavior is a mimetic movement, becoming a white block filled with everyone inside. In a forest of us. Waiting for the rain to happen. (Like a levitating cloud)
